Another great show. BTW, this is how I grew up in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, next to a reservation. I was taught to flint knap, make bows as you know, make moccasins and snow shoes, EVERYTHING. I brain tan my leather, still hunt, fish, and now I added herbalism. I am certified in wilderness rescue and first aid, rock climbing, so much more. 5 years ago I was fly fishing in the mountains in January when a snow avalanche took out the trail. It was a 400 ft drop and the only way out of the canyon. Being a preparedness nut, I had rope, pitons (which I designed in college) and built a rope bridge and barely got out alive. Last fall I went back, this time a gravel avalanche took out the same trail, again. Same rope and hello I am here. My sister taught on the reservation for 15 years and was adopted by the tribe. Now, they invite me back to teach the young adults the skills I learned that many forgot. I just completed Apache knife fighting school, later this fall I will get my teaching certificate.
